Duties

The main tasks consist of conducting research within the research project “Surveillance Cameras and Artificial Intelligence in Criminal Investigations.” The project’s aim is to provide knowledge on how increased use of material from surveillance cameras affects the police’s capacity to investigate and solve crimes, and how the produced material is used and made into evidence for criminal investigators.

The work includes independently and in collaboration with other project participants collecting policy documents, conducting interviews, and extensive observations within the police authority, as well as analyzing the collected material. Furthermore, the work includes independently and in collaboration with other project participants writing scientific publications in English and Swedish, presenting research results at international research conferences. The work also includes popular science dissemination of the research results.

To be able to conduct the research, an approved security clearance by the police authority is required.

The postdoctoral position aims to provide the employee with an early opportunity to develop their independence as a researcher after completing their doctoral degree and to create conditions for further qualifications.
