Qualifications
A doctoral degree in care science or another relevant health science discipline is required.
Applicants must demonstrate scientific competence in the subject area, and show the ability to conduct research focused on the importance of outdoor environments for health and wellbeing – especially in relation to older people and staff in residential care settings.
Professional registration in a health profession is required.
Applicants must have experience with both qualitative and quantitative research methods and have shown teaching proficiency at undergraduate, advanced, and doctoral levels. Pedagogical training in higher education, or equivalent competence, is required.
Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability. You should have excellent collaboration skills, be creative, independent, and able to work in a structured way towards deadlines.
Desirable qualifications
It is particularly meritorious if the applicant holds a dual doctorate in care science and architecture, or another relevant combination such as health sciences and landscape architecture or environmental psychology.
A master’s degree in landscape architecture or environmental psychology is also considered an advantage.
Other merits include clinical experience, a successful track record of obtaining research funding, and experience teaching in care science and/or architecture.
Assessment criteria
This position is an entry-level step in an academic career. Primary emphasis is placed on scientific merit and research potential, with a focus on ability within the subject area.
The assessment of the applicant’s qualifications will be based on:
- High-quality interdisciplinary research
- Teaching proficiency
- Consideration will also be given to how well the applicant complements and strengthens the existing research environment.
Employment
The position is a full-time, fixed-term appointment for two years, with the possibility of a one-year extension.
The post is based at the Institute of Health and Care Sciences.
Start date by agreement.
