项目介绍

We have the power of over 50,000 students and co-workers. Students who provide hope for the future. Co-workers who contribute to Linköping University meeting challenges of today. Our fundamental values rest on credibility, trust and security. By having the courage to think freely and innovate, our actions together, large and small, contribute to a better world. We look forward to receiving your application!

Your work assignments

The research is conducted within the framework of an MSCA-DN project focused on sustainable remediation, with particular emphasis on so-called geophysics-assisted remediation strategies studied in comparison with conventional remediation strategies. The project aims to develop and apply methods for assessing environmental impact, ecosystem services, and technical and socioeconomic aspects related to different remediation options.

The current call comprises two doctoral positions with complementary focuses. One position focuses on developing and applying a generic methodology for analysing the environmental impact and ecosystem services of different remediation strategies under varying project and contextual conditions. The other position focuses on developing methods for analysing technical and socioeconomic aspects and for making trade-offs between different sustainability criteria, including stakeholder perspectives.

The work includes method development, case studies, and applications in different project contexts. This may include data analysis, modelling, literature reviews, and interaction with relevant stakeholders. The results are expected to contribute increased knowledge of key factors influencing the choice of remediation strategies and of trade-offs between different sustainability goals.

As a PhD student, you devote most of your time to doctoral studies and the research projects of which you are part. Your work may also include teaching or other departmental duties, up to a maximum of 20 per cent of full-time.

An MSCA Doctoral Network (DN) is an international research and training collaboration in which universities and organisations from several countries jointly train doctoral students. The project combines research with structured doctoral education, including courses, joint activities, and exchanges between different higher education institutions and sectors (academia and industry). The aim is to provide doctoral students with broad competence through international mobility, interdisciplinary work, and close collaboration with different societal stakeholders.

Your qualifications

You have obtained a second-cycle degree in a relevant field, for example environmental engineering, industrial environmental engineering, sustainable development, geoscience, engineering physics, or equivalent, or completed courses comprising at least 240 credits, of which at least 60 credits are at second-cycle level, or have otherwise acquired equivalent knowledge.

To be eligible for the position, you must fulfil the MSCA requirements for doctoral candidates. This means that you must not have been awarded a doctoral degree and that, at the time of recruitment, you must not have resided or carried out your main activity in Sweden for more than 12 months during the past three years.

For this position, it is important that you have an interest in sustainability issues and systems analysis. Knowledge or experience in, for example, life cycle assessment (LCA), environmental systems analysis, remediation technology, geophysical methods, or techno-economic analysis is considered meritorious.

We are seeking candidates who can work independently and in a structured manner and who have strong analytical ability. Collaborative skills are important, as the work is carried out in project form and in dialogue with other researchers and stakeholders.

Excellent English skills, both spoken and written, are required since research, publication, and scientific communication are conducted in English.
