We are seeking a skilled and highly motivated PhD candidate for a 3 year position, in the fields of gas-filled hollow-core fiber lasers, ultrafast lasers, and nonlinear optics.
In this role, you will conduct cutting-edge research in ultrafast nonlinear optics using gas-filled hollow-core fiber platforms. You will develop advanced high-power near-infrared ultrafast laser sources and gas-filled fiber systems for fundamental studies and emerging photonic applications. The research will primarily be carried out in the GasLab at DTU Electro, which provides state-of-the-art infrastructure for exploratory gas-laser experiments and a collaborative environment for training and mentoring project personnel.
Our expectations of you
We expect the successful candidate to have:
- A MSc degree in optics/photonics, optical engineering.
- Interest and background with exploring unknown physics in the field of nonlinear photonics and ultrafast lasers.
- Experimental experience with developing fiber lasers, with preference on gas-filled hollow-core fiber lasers.
- The ability to work independently, and contribute creatively to research projects, and the ability to maintain an organized and safe work environment.
- The candidate should be fluent in English, both written and spoken.
You must have a two-year master’s degree (120 ECTS points) or a similar degree with an academic level equivalent to a two-year master’s degree.
