This track prepares the student to practice at an advanced level to provide evidence-based family centered care to children from birth through adolescence. PNPs prepared in primary and acute care are educationally prepared to care for patients across the entire continuum of health and illness and in a variety of care settings.   

The development of the curriculum is based on:

• The National Task Force Criteria for Evaluation of Nurse Practitioner Programs (2016)
• The National Organization of Nurse Practitioner Faculties (NONPF) NP Core Competencies with Curriculum Content (2017)
• The Nurse Practitioner Core Competencies (2014)
• Population-Focused Nurse Practitioner Competencies: Pediatric Acute Care (2013) (NONPF)
