The goal of the MIT Sloan PhD Program’s admissions process is to select a small number of people who are most likely to successfully complete our rigorous and demanding program and then thrive in academic research careers. The admission selection process is highly competitive; we aim for a class size of just 19 students, admitted from a pool of hundreds of applicants.

Dates and Deadlines

Application for 2022 admission is closed. The next opportunity to apply to the PhD Program is for 2023 admission. The 2023 online application will be available in September 2022 and will be due December 2022. 

Funding

Students in good academic standing in our program receive a funding package that includes tuition, medical insurance, and a stipend. We also provide a new laptop computer and a conference travel/research budget.
