Doctoral students in Artificial Intelligence

项目介绍

Want to explore the future of artificial intelligence alongside a world-leading researcher? Join Julian Togelius’ new research group and pursue a PhD at the intersection of AI, creativity, games, and groundbreaking ideas.

About us

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering, a joint department of Chalmers and the University of Gothenburg, spans the breadth of computing disciplines. Our internationally visible research, strong industry links and diverse environment create a collaborative setting where ideas grow into real impact.

At the division of Data Science and AI, we develop data-driven methods and AI solutions that support intelligent decisions across society, advancing machine learning techniques, from foundations to industrial and scientific applications.

About the research project

We are looking for multiple Doctoral students who will join Julian Togelius’ new research group at Chalmers under his direct supervision. The nature of the research is open-ended, and the research problem(s) will be defined in dialogue between advisor and student. We are looking for students who are interested in the interfaces between artificial intelligence and domains such as video games, creativity, art, and philosophy. Students should be eager to do both technical and conceptual work, and interested in advancing both problems and solutions. The team will be exploring novel directions, and trying to do novel things that might not have been done otherwise.

The work will be highly collaborative, and the Doctoral students are expected to be eager to work in-person together with a dynamic and diverse team of other PhD students, postdocs, and visitors. Research should be fun, and we will endeavor to make this new group a fun place work.

It is highly recommended that applicants familiarize themselves with Julian Togelius’ research before applying.
