乌得勒支大学（Utrecht University）地球科学学院人文地理与空间规划系招收博士后（1.0 FTE，首签 12 个月，评估合格可延至合计 29.5 个月），加入跨学科 ELEVATE 项目「健康的生活环境造就健康的运动习惯」：主导开发 AI 驱动的城市（再）设计推荐系统，融合街景影像、地理空间数据、智能手机出行数据与定性洞察，用多模态大模型为政策制定者、规划师与研究者生成促进步行、骑行等积极出行方式的城市设计证据型建议。月薪 €3,706–€5,760（CAO-NU scale 10），每周 36–40 小时，申请截止 2026 年 10 月 15 日。

Your job

You will lead the development of an innovative AI-enabled recommender system for urban (re)design. Your main responsibilities include: integrating multi-source datasets, including street-view imagery, GIS data, smartphone mobility data, and qualitative insights; applying and adapting state-of-the-art foundational AI and machine learning models (e.g., multimodal AI, large language/world models) with specific finetuning for ELEVATE; designing geographically context-sensitive urban design recommendations that promote active mobility related physical activity; finetuning, evaluating, and improving model performance using local data while ensuring explainability, fairness, and robustness of the model outputs; collaborating with municipalities, urban planners, designers, and residents in model co-creation and validation workshops; contributing to the development of an interactive, publicly accessible web interface (e.g., with a chat facility); publishing high-quality scientific articles; and contributing to the supervision of MSc students within the broader ELEVATE consortium.

Your qualities

• A PhD in computer science, artificial intelligence, data science, computational social science, urban analytics, geoinformatics, or a related field.
• Experience with foundational AI model development/finetuning and machine learning and/or deep learning.
• Strong programming skills (e.g., Python, JavaScript, PostgreSQL) with clear expertise in front-end and back-end development.
• Strong communication and academic writing skills.

Good to have: experience working with geospatial or image-based data; an interest in urban health, mobility, public space, or sustainable cities; the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in interdisciplinary teams.

Our offer

A position of 1.0 FTE for 12 months. After a positive evaluation, the position can be extended to 29.5 months. A working week of 36-40 hours and a gross monthly salary between €3,706 and €5,760 (salary scale 10 under the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities). 8% holiday pay and 8.3% year-end bonus; a pension scheme, partially paid parental leave and flexible terms of employment.
