The research groups that the candidate will be joining investigate the mechanisms and dynamics of plasmid copy number in pathogenic bacteria, with a particular focus on infection biology and the evolution of antibiotic resistance. Plasmids play a central role in spreading antimicrobial resistance across bacterial species and environments.
