Modular Manufacturing Plant Design

项目介绍

We are searching for a strong PhD candidate within the area of modular manufacturing plant design. You will have a unique opportunity to work and do research in a strong collaboration between Rockwool and the Technical University of Denmark. The PhD project will address a number of very business critical areas such as reducing time to build new plants, expand capacity of existing plants, increase efficiency, and develop manufacturing flexibility such as incorporation of recyclable materials, new heating technologies and new product variants.

The position will give you an exceptional opportunity to work both practically and theoretically in such a way that you will see concrete solutions being implemented in Rockwool. The PhD project is part of the Made research programme made.dk.

Responsibilities and qualifications
Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to establishing a method for developing and implementing modular manufacturing plant design architectures
  • Develop qualitative and quantitative operational and visual models of modular plant architectures
  • Identify the optimal financial and technical tradeoff criteria for making operational decisions within architectures
  • Develop technology and manufacturing roadmaps for supporting development of modular plant architectures
  • Develop processes for operational governance of modular plant architectures
  • Implement architectures in commercial available IT systems such as ERP, CAD, PDM and Plant design systems

Qualifications:

  • An engineering educational background within Design, Manufacturing engineering and operational manufacturing with top results
  • Deep understanding of the interplay between design and manufacturing in relation to cost, lead time, manufacturing efficiency and quality
  • Ability to work very systematically and visually
  • Knowledge of modularity
  • Knowledge of commercially available IT systems such as CAD, PDM, ERP and Plant design
  • Ability to work cross disciplinary across e.g. manufacturing engineering, design, finance and operation

You must have a two-year master’s degree (120 ECTS points) or a similar degree with an academic level equivalent to a two-year master’s degree.

Approval and Enrolment
