The Department of Accounting, Finance & Insurance is looking for highly motivated candidates, interested in pursuing a Ph.D. in Business Economics at KU Leuven. Website unit
You will conduct research in the broad field of financial markets and investments. The precise agenda will be determined jointly with the PhD candidate, supervisor and co-supervisor. This may include -but is not limited to- empirical and theoretical research on financial markets, stability, structure and interconnectedness, mutual funds, sustainable finance, risk management, and asset pricing.
The candidate should have a master degree in economics, finance, econometrics or business engineering (before October 2021).
Successful candidates should have excellent qualifications at master level.
A very strong interest in scientific research especially in the topics mentioned in the project description is expected.
The position and supervision process are geared towards preparing the successful candidate for a career in academia.
Excellent econometric and methodological skills and a good understanding of financial economics are considered an asset.
The candidate should have a high level of proficiency in English sufficient to communicate effectively with colleagues.
We offer a full-time position as a Ph.D. scholarship recipient, consisting of an initial period of 12 months, which–upon positive evaluation–will be extended to a maximum of 4 years.
The Department of Accounting, Finance & Insurance offers a dynamic, stimulating and pleasant working environment.
