We offer a variety of research-based or coursework-based programmes leading to advanced degrees, as well as shorter professional education courses to suit every interest and aspiration.

Research Degrees

If you are fascinated by a particular topic and have an insatiable curiosity to push the boundaries of knowledge, embark on an journey of scientific discovery under the expert supervision of our acclaimed academics, and prepare yourself for a career in academia or research in industry.

• Masters of Engineering (MEng)
• Doctor of Philisophy (PhD)
• Engineering Doctorate (EngD)
• Special programmes, e.g. joint PhD, etc.

The entry requirement for admission as a Master of Engineering candidate is a good bachelor’s degree. For admission as a Doctor of Philosophy candidate, a Master’s degree is normally required. In both cases, the candidate must show the ability to pursue research in the proposed field of advanced study.

For the M. Eng. degree, the period of candidature ranges from 1 to 3 years, while that for the Ph. D. degree ranges from 2 to 5 years.

Financial support is currently available for suitably qualified candidates.
