PhD scholarship in Isoform-level Omics Analysis

项目介绍

Do you want to be part of a team that’s pushing the boundaries of omics analysis? Do you want to help us shape the future of omics analysis?

We are looking for an enthusiastic PhD student in bioinformatics to work on isoform-level analysis of omics data through both method development and applied analysis.

If this sounds interesting, consider joining the Isoform Analysis group in the Section for Bioinformatics at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU). Here you will work closely with talented researchers that want to make a difference. Importantly you will be joining a collaborative group where you get a lot of support but also a lot of autonomy all within a section where you will get a diverse set of scientific inputs. You can read more about the background and the group at www.healthtech.dtu.dk/Isoform-Analysis.

About Us:
My leadership philosophy can be simply stated as: people first. Our research is driven by a passion for science, but never at the expense of personal wellbeing! I firmly believe that science should be an exhilarating and enjoyable journey. Although I am not yet an experienced group leader, I take my role seriously and remain committed to continuous learning.

In our research group, I don’t perceive myself as an authoritative figure who makes all the decisions. Rather, I see myself as a guide and facilitator for you. My primary role is to provide unwavering support to help you achieve our shared goals by navigating the right paths and eliminating obstacles along the way. I am committed to fostering an environment where scientific ideas, diversity and personal growth thrive.

You must have the following requirements:

  • Excellent programming skills in R and Python
  • Experience in the applied analysis of single-cell RNA-sequencing data, as demonstrated by peer-reviewed publication(s)
  • Experience in developing, benchmarking, and validating bioinformatics tools and computational methods, as demonstrated by peer-reviewed publication(s)
  • Applied experience with isoform analysis using both transcriptomics and proteomics data
  • Experience with reproducible computational research, including version control, Unix/Linux environments, and high-performance computing (HPC)
  • Experience in collecting, organizing, integrating, and analyzing large and complex biological datasets

You must have a two-year master’s degree (120 ECTS points) in bioinformatics or a similar degree with an academic level equivalent to a two-year master’s degree.
