Are you ready for your next challenge? We are looking for a Doctoral student join our team at the Division of Materials and Manufacture at the Department of Mechanical Engineering. Become part of an innovative team and contribute to exciting research in high-entropy ceramics in a collaborative and dynamic environment.
About us
At the department of Mechanical Engineering, we unite the power of technology, people, and society to drive the transition toward a sustainable future. Through research, education, and collaboration, we create solutions that connect materials to mobility, ideas to impact – shaping a resilient and sustainable world.
In the division of Materials and Manufacture you’ll join a friendly, international team passionate about shaping the future of materials and production. Our research spans innovative materials, advanced manufacturing, and sustainable solutions – always with real-world impact in mind, and with strong ties to industry. If you are interested in working experimentally and making a difference in the areas of materials and manufacturing, we look forward to receiving your application.
About the research project
The research project is about high-entropy ceramics. It explores how industrial waste can be reused to create durable, high-temperature ceramic materials. Instead of relying on costly and energy-intensive raw materials, the project uses waste from processes like heating systems and glass production. By studying how these recycled materials behave, it aims to develop more sustainable ceramics that can still perform well in extreme environments, while reducing environmental impact and supporting a circular use of resources.
Who we are looking for
The following requirements are mandatory:
- To qualify as a Doctoral student, you must have a Master’s degree (masterexamen) of 120 credits or a Master’s degree (magisterexamen) of 60 credits* in Materials Science, Material Engineering, Metallurgy, Ceramics Engineering, or equivalent subject
