Job description
Do you have a background in nonlinear continuum mechanics, constitutive modeling, soft tissue modelling or finite element analysis and a passion for advancing the understanding of brain injury? Then this could be a position for you. We are looking for an ambitious, collaborative and structured person to join our team.
In this role, you will take a leading position in advancing the material modelling of brain tissue. Your research will focus on:
- Improving material models of the brain, with particular focuses on finite viscoelasticity, anisotropy, hyperelasticity, and heterogeneity
- Integrating neuroimaging-derived cerebrovascular structures to enhance the anatomical structures of finite element head models
As a postdoctoral fellow, you will work within an interdisciplinary, international, collaborative, and supportive work environment. You will be an integral part of the growing division of Neuronic Engineering with the mission to bridge engineering and medicine to improve the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of injuries to the human nervous system. You will work closely with Prof. Svein Kleiven, Assist. Prof. Zhou Zhou, and Assoc. Prof. Xiaogai Li at the Neuronic division, and will also collaborate with other research groups at KTH, including Prof. Christian Gasser, Lisa Prahl Wittberg, and Rodrigo Moreno. This opportunity is ideal for those seeking to advance their research career in engineering science, computational modelling, and brain health at a leading global institution.
