PhD scholarship at the Department of Business Humanities and Law

项目介绍

Copenhagen Business School’s Department of Business Humanities and Law invites applications for one vacant PhD scholarship within one or more of the research areas of the department.

The expected start date is 1 September 2025.

Firmly rooted in interdisciplinary scholarship, the business humanities research areas of the department include:

Entrepreneurship, Ethics and Leadership
We welcome research proposals that relate to entrepreneurship, including transformation, innovation, new venture creation, and market development; ethics in business, including responsibility, decision-making dilemmas, and the broader implications of business for society; and leadership, including emphasis on interpersonal relationships within organizations and workplace dynamics related to change processes.

Governance, Culture and Learning
We welcome proposals for doctoral work that relate to governance, including investigation of structures and processes of governance on different levels of organizations; culture, including ‘culture in business’ and ‘culture as a business’; and learning, including studies of learning processes in organizations and business.

While we encourage applications aligned with these themes, we also welcome innovative proposals that fall within the broader scope of business humanities research.

About Department of Business Humanities and Law (BHL) at CBS

Core research areas of the Department of Business Humanities and Law are organized into different Units:

  • Entrepreneurship, Ethics and Leadership;
  • Governance, Culture and Learning; and
  • CBS Law.

Faculty within these groups have research backgrounds in various areas of law, political science, sociology, philosophy, history, anthropology, literature, theology, aesthetics, design and innovation, tourism and leisure management, cultural economics, leadership and strategy, pedagogic study, and other fields.

What unites faculty is an overriding concern for the organization of the human within its multiple environments: work, technology, nature, economy, civil association, the state, and corporation. BHL also participates in numerous interdisciplinary cross-CBS activities. In line with this concern, the PhD should demonstrate a capacity to bridge several of these environments and place the human at the heart of the project. Further information about the department and its research environments is available here: https://www.cbs.dk/en/research/departments-and-centres/department-of-business-humanities-and-law/research.
