项目介绍
The postdoc project; Plant abiotic stresses aims to understand how plants respond to abiotic stresses and to develop new methods to evaluate abiotic stress tolerance in cereals and forage crops. This position will involve investigating molecular, genetic, and physiological mechanisms that enable plants to withstand environmental stresses such as drought and extreme temperatures. The outcome of this project will contribute towards strengthening of plant breeding for food crops to increase the innovation potential and food security. You will work with researchers involved in putting traits into usable forms by understanding germplasm diversity. You will also work in close collaboration with stakeholders. The postdoc is connected to the group of Assoc. Prof. Aakash Chawade.
Your profile
As postdoctoral appointments are career-developing positions for junior researchers, we are primarily looking for candidates with a doctoral degree that is three years old at most. You should have a research focus in plant physiology, molecular biology and genetics. Knowledge in statistics and R is required. You should have the ability to work independently as well as in a team. You should be motivated, highly interested in sensor technologies and have excellent English language skills.
About us
The Department of Plant Breeding conducts research, education, and innovation work of strategic importance for society’s long-term supply of food, industrial raw materials, and energy to meet the increasing demands for these resources and, at the same time, make plant production increasingly environmentally friendly and energy efficient. Together, we expand knowledge that helps develop society sustainably. We collaborate with growers and industries to cultivate the crops of the future, actively shaping the contents of tomorrow’s consumer plates. We are a workplace that has grown numerically in recent years with a significant number of international employees.
