Postdoc in Private Construction Law

项目介绍

We are looking for a candidate with good academic qualities, strong experience in doing (comparative) legal research and an special interest in private construction law. The candidate is also willing and able to engage with the field of practice.

Your position
The central research theme for which we are hiring concerns private construction law, with a focus on sustainable and circular building as one of the most important ways to fulfill the European Commission’s Circular Economy Action Plan (2019). Although, in recent years, there have been many developments in this area, such as product-as-a-service, modular construction, and integrating circular materials in construction projects, from a legal perspective there are many challenges too. The current legal frameworks in private construction law may hamper sustainable and circular building. The research for which we are hiring aims to contribute to ongoing research initiatives in close collaboration with national and international partners. The research project is embedded in the PBLL Research Plan Connecting Responsible Organizations, which focusses on three main research themes in private law: sustainability, servitization, and technology.

Themes that are highly relevant for further (comparative) research are for instance: contractual frameworks that stimulate sustainable building practice, regulating long-term relationships between contract parties in construction projects, and intellectual property rights of designer’s in a circular (building) industry. The post-doc researcher will do comparative legal research, fieldwork consisting of observations and interviews, and will take part in existing (inter)national networks. Experience within the field of construction law is required.
