项目介绍
Our goal is to provide the multidisciplinary training required for a successful research and teaching career. PBEE faculty and students pursue a broad range of research questions in a wide variety of experimental systems, ranging from bacteria to humans. One central feature unites our program: the focus on the use of quantitative methods and models during the course of our research. This theme is reflected in the design of our core curriculum and the research projects pursued by our students. Our graduate program has six main areas of inquiry:
- Bioinformatics and Biostatistics
- Biology of Species Interactions
- Disease Ecology
- Ecological and Evolutionary Modeling
- Genetics of Complex Traits
- Population and Comparative Genomics
Founded in 1994, the PBEE program now includes 41 faculty members and 22 graduate students. PBEE faculty are members of Emory College of Arts and Sciences (Departments of Anthropology, Biology, Chemistry, and Environmental Studies) the Emory University School of Medicine (Departments of Human Genetics, Microbiology, and Medicine), the Emory Rollins School of Public Health (Departments of Bioinformatics and Biostatistics, Global Health), the Emory National Primate Research Center, the Emory National Vaccine Center, and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC).
