What our students and staff say

Student review

“The key strength of my graduate programme is broad training in key methodological and theoretical issues in public health. In my first year of a 4-year PhD programme, funded by the British Heart Foundation, I have had a chance to work within three research groups, which involved training in epidemiology of alcohol and obesity, design and evaluation of smoking cessation inteventions, and finally, identification of vascular risk factors for cognitive decline. Additionally, I was very impressed and greatly benefited from attending advanced statistical courses, and relevant MSc lectures. Finally, as a PhD student I am offered flexibility and support in intitiating research collaborations with private and public institutions, which will be crucial for completion of my PhD project. “
